Festive Favorites

IMG_0650

If I’m being totally honest, my festive season begins towards the end of August when I start adding more golds, reds and sparkles to my daily makeup looks. I really step it up in November and this year, I had A TON of new products to play with, getting me more into a bolder eye look or two and really immersing myself in skin care. Here are my festive faves that I wore to every Christmas gathering imaginable.

Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizing Veil

My good friend Kelly sent me a package earlier this month with a bunch of goodies. Inside was one of Sephora’s 500-point perks from Josie Maran. I had seen this on the website but totally overlooked it. Then I opened the box and did some swatches before falling in love. The box came with this highlight, a cheek and lip cream, and two oils. I just started using the Milk Argan Oil and while I love it already, it’s not fair to include it in a favorites post so soon. Anyway, this is a really nice champagne with a hint of gold and it’s perfect for a more subtle highlight. I’ve been wearing this to work to keep the glow without being a total disco ball and it’s just perfect for layering.

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil in Everlasting Honey

I am sooo in love with this product! I always go for creams or stains on my cheeks because I just think they look more natural. I love this one in particular because it’s a bit of a rosy pink that makes you look really healthy and like you’ve got a bit of a tan going on. It can be really subtle and works so nicely with a bold lip or eye (or both) and can also be built up for more glowy cheek goodness. I may have to purchase the full size (I actually have to).

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

Such a good base product! Idk if it’s the color correction or the medium-high coverage that feels really lightweight, but this is absolutely amazing. I wear this when I know I need my skin to look great and I even made a re-purchase from Feel Unique.

ColourPop Highlight in Butterfly Beach

After binge watching KathleenLights videos for like, a day, I decided to visit the ColourPop website and bought this highlight. Kathleen mentions Wisp as her favorite from the brand and while I was interested, I felt a pull towards this shade instead. It is fairly gold/bronze, and definitely shows up as such on your face, but I like it! I layer this over whatever blush I’m wearing and either wear it on its own or use it as a base for a powder. Either way, it’s amazing and you’re basically at disco ball status, which is literally my highlight goal.

Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Nail Collection x Nails Inc Nail Polish set

(Sorry! Unfortunately I couldn’t find a proper link to this specific set). Kelly also sent this set in her package to me and when I saw it, I almost cried. I’ve been having quite the moment with Nails Inc polishes lately and was actually thinking of purchasing the shade Merlot from this collab. I thought the dark purple was Merlot at first, but I’m really glad it isn’t. The dark purple is so dark, it’s nearly black, a personal fave quality in a nail polish. This pink called Next to Nothing is a more pink and milky version of the Victoria Beckham x Nails Inc shade in Bamboo White and the shade with sparkles called Black Diamond is really buildable, so you can basically get the night sky on your nails. It’s definitely my favorite, but they’re literally all so chic. Plus, how cute is this Alice + Olivia #StaceFace bag?

Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in Boom Boom Pow

I was gifted this by another friend about two years ago because I once told her I really loved it but couldn’t justify the price tag. I probably wear this for two months straight every year and it’s the perfect polish to layer over literally any color or on its own for the festive touch of glitter. I love to pair it with bright reds or burgundy to remain super festive, as well as with nudes and darker shades to be a bit more subtle. There are varying sizes of gold glitter, so it’s really quite a fun polish.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella

Listen, I don’t know what my life was like before the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. This is such a gorgeous shade of red as it’s really bright while also having a hint of berry to it. This pencil really helps to define your lips and the matte look is always a personal fave. Also, it lasts AGES.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in 107

One of my fave lipsticks of all time and it’s from the drug store! This is defo more of a berry red on me, but I love it for the holidays. While not as long-lasting as the other two pictured, it gets the job done and doesn’t dry out your lips despite it’s matte finish.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Always Red

Another massive favorite here for the price, formula, and color. This is also matte, but the finish is very flawless and can also get you that really defined appearance. It will not budge through glass after glass of mulled wine or from one slice of ham to the turkey leg. The shade here is really appropriate as it’s a true red. You can’t go wrong with this one and it literally doesn’t leave my handbag most of the year.

Tanya Burr Cheek Palette

This is a recent purchase and I’m already so in love with it. Obviously I love my girl Tanya, but when I saw the gorgeous highlight and blush shades, I couldn’t resist. The quantity of products for the price is absolutely phenomenal, plus I got two for the price of three (the other two had the rose shade and were given as gifts). The powders are all super pigmented and while the bronzer is less subtle than my usual, I do really like it for a more glammed up look. I also love this peachy blush for a very natural flush that looks good on everyone who’s face has been within reach. The highlight in this palette isn’t as in your face as the other palette’s, but it’s still so gorgeous and layers wonderfully over a cream highlight. I can’t remember a day when I didn’t use this palette in some way.

MAC Copper Sparkles Pigment

If you want sparkley festive eyes, this is the product for you. I saw Sunbeams Jess use this in a tutorial and immediately knew I needed it in my life for the holidays. It is actually molten pennies on your eyelids, which I prefer to a really glittery gold as I think it compliments my brown eyes more. This stuff is messy and I still don’t have the right kind of liquid to help it stick to my eyelids, so while water works, it’s pretty messy. Still, I love it and will literally use any excuse to wear it.

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eye Shadow Palette in Dolce Vita

A favorite from last year’s festive season that I wear year round. I love the rusty-red and the gold/bronze glitter shades the most, but the whole palette is so lovely. It’s a more subtle approach to festive lids than the MAC pigment, but I love it so much.

Lancome Grandiose Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara

This mascara literally looks like that rose in a glass case from Beauty and the Beast and I love it. The wand is so cool and intricate and now that I’ve had time to get used to it, makes mascara application much more efficient. The formula itself is quite wet and good for lengthening more so than adding volume, which is why I like to pair it with Too Face Better Than Sex mascara. This is the easiest and quickest way to apply mascara as literally one tiny touch coats, lifts and lengthens. A new personal fave for sure.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

I sort of fell out of love with this when I returned from London because I couldn’t quite grasp how to use it. I’ve been obsessed with cat eyes for the holidays and now that I’ve mastered this liner a bit, it’s so great for a longer or thinner wing. While the formula isn’t the most enduring, I like how easy it is to fix any problems.

Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eye Liner

This has been the ultimate liner for cat eyes this season as the applicator is so thick and pointed. It’s very stiff and a bit difficult to work with, but once you’ve got it, it’s perfect for a dramatic/bold wing and to layer over the MAC pigment. I’ll be sad when I run out of this since I can’t purchase it in the US.

Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb

I’ve never been so in love with a moisturizer that I actually bought a full size product. Seriously, this stuff is hydrating and cooling. It somehow feels both light and thick and just sinks into your skin. My face loves to drink it up and I love the light sky blue shade. It’s been a lifesaver for my dry skin.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

This is the best eye cream of all time. I purchased it in November and it barely looks like it’s been touched. I love that it is not only hydrating, but also brightening.

Josie Maran 100 Percent Pure Argan Oil

I never knew how much I needed oils in my life until I received this sample. A true game changer in the skincare department, again especially with my dryer skin. It’s not too oily or thick, which is lovely. I just love how my skin feel so plump and refreshed after every use.

Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge and Detoxifying Black Cleanser

This duo is incredible. I love the sponge because it feels like I’m actually cleansing my skin and helps me reach all the nooks and crannies of my face. The cleanser is warming and amazing at keeping my skin really clean. I need to buy the full size because it’s just that great.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

Another game changer for lazy girls and extra cleanliness. Sometimes, I don’t want to wash my face but I am really good at removing my makeup. This solves all the problems as a few cotton pads of this stuff and my face is gone for the night. It also isnt’ stripping despite its ability to remove even my layers of mascara and eyeliner. I also love that it has really helped me post-cleanser as it helps me to see all the makeup left on my face and chin. I remove it all and feel so much better and cleaner as a result.

What have been your faves lately? Let me know below! Xx S.
